This last week was a challenge, living on the beach, with the rainy weather.
In Hawaii the rainy season is just starting. It will probably rain everyday for the next four months.
The rain comes in showers mostly. They're showers, coming from the east, pushed along by the trade winds.
Every morning there will be a shower 90% of the time just before dawn.
These showers are on the windward side of the islands. They're described on the news as "Windward & Mauka Showers in the morning".
Windward & Mauka means Eastern shores & in the mountains.
They clear up as the sunny warms the island and the rising warm air dissipates the moisture heavy air.
One normally needs only to get to a leeward side of a large object (tree, building or other large object) to be protected for the 3 to 5 minutes the shower lasts.
The leeward side of objects is the side that the wind is not coming from. The downwind side, so the object blocks the wind.
The rain is the number one problem one faces from the environment On The Beach in Hawaii.
